Smiling

I could not resist smiling when spotting this fella at the hummingbird feeder.

Looks to me like he may have found a new place to rest as he moves to an fro :)!!

Something else made me smile.  We got rain!

It had been twenty-one days without a drop.  Very unusual for our spring to be so dry.

What a difference a good shower does for the flowers.  It makes them stand up tall.

Do you think Mr. Hummer may be smiling?

Bet he was glad to get a bath!

Well better go for now...I think the lawn mower is calling me.

Hope everyone is having a great week.

P.S.  Don't forget to smile!

Hugs

Debbie

  2. Yep, we need rain, too. 100 degrees and more, usually doesn't come until mid or late July. Yikes. Love your photos. We don't see chipmunks here.

  4. That hummingbird would make me smile too if I saw one at the feeder. I often see them at my neighbor's feeder through the window. They are such precious birds. So glad to hear you got rain, Debbie! I think it's great that you still mow the lawn! I'm familiar with all lawn care things too. ; ) That's a nice verse to start the week off.

    Have a beautiful week, Debbie.

  5. We've eventually had some rain after a long dry spell. The gardens loved it. That little Chipmunk is just the cutest.

  6. Glad to hear that you had some rain. We've had some here too and more is forcast from Thursday on. Maybe that will encourage me to do some cleaning if I am in the house. lol The chipmunk made me smile. I don't know why I find them so much cuter than squirrels, but I do. Hope you have more things to smile at this week. I was in a lavender field today and it definitely made me smile...great view and great fragrance. Have a great week!

  7. Aww, what a cutie. Our squirrels like to hang on our hummingbird feeder and drink the nectar! Glad you're finally getting some rain, even though now you have to mow!

  8. I'm so glad you've got the rain... we did too! So grateful for it. Loved your cheeky little fellow in the birdfeeders. He is striped -- is he a chipmunk? We have a little brown squirrel that vies for a place at the sunflower feeders alongside the red winged blackbirds and other feathered friends. They all seem to get along (more or less.) Thanks, Debbie for a lovely glimpse at summer in your corner of the world.

Reminded

Seeing this lovely violet patch blooming reminded me that I had been wanting to gather a few.   Many years ago I had candied some to decorat...
