This weekend brought us our first frost of the season.
The calendar may not show that fall has arrived but the white ground says autumn is here.
This brave sunflower is holding on hoping for a few more summer days. Likewise the tomatoes in the background need a bit more heat to ripen.
To my way of thinking summertime is never long enough. So I am off to enjoy the last moments of the season.
See you all in the fall!
Have a blessed week.
Hugs
Debbie
"And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years." Gen. 1:14 (NIV)
Debbie.. summer and I are not close friends. Autumn is my favorite season; living is the lower south we most often have a brief visit. I do hope warmer weather returns your way. Hugs and have a fabulous week!
ReplyDeleteI love fall, but it makes me feel a little sad. I love summer, too, so maybe that's why - I don't like to say goodbye. I hope you get some more summer days, Debbie. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteFrost looks beautiful in your photos! Same weather here, a few more sunny days they say on the radio. I fear for the tomatoes on my balcony.
ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings of Fall.... I Love the colors of Fall and the cool crisp air but yet I already miss the warmth on my face..... I’m in a category of my own! Lol. My tomatoes didn’t do well this year even though I took care of them... I think I’m going to start adding good compost to the soil..... enjoy the week, Debbie!!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine! I do hope you get the warmer weather you want, though. In fact, I'm more than willing to share ours...
ReplyDeleteFirst frost is always an exciting event to me. It announces fall has arrived despite what the calendar says. These images are so lovely. Have a great week. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteI love to see frost on the grass in the mornings, and I love a foggy and misty mornings too. That sunflower photo is so pretty, Debbie. And I always appreciate the verses you share. They are very special. Have a nice week, dear friend.

Oh my gracious ---! It's been cool here in NC this week -- just WONDERFUL after 90 degree heat for weeks on end ... Love those images, Deb .... reminds me of where we used to live and those first days of frost ...
ReplyDeleteIt looks cold with frost on the ground. We have had a few days of cooler weather too. Like you, I love summer. This has been a hot one for sure.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. Already? It seems a bit early for frost but I am used to winter arriving in December.
ReplyDeleteThe truth is that around here although in autumn but still in short sleeves and ending the summer of the quince as we say, it is comforting to see the first frost.
ReplyDeleteRegards.
Your photos, some with contrasting colors, some with harmonious, all showing the gentleness of the country. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place on earth...
ReplyDeleteGenesis is astonishing, isn't it? So planned.
