America

Here in America tomorrow we will recognize Memorial Day.  For many it will not be possible to gather to celebrate this holiday.

Our world has changed and even though many of us are beginning to go out and about - we are finding that life as we knew it is not the same.

There is a longing for what was and may never quite return.

Yet in considering the veterans of the past we know the abiding loving spirit of those men and women continues to live on in many hearts today.  That has not changed.

We see it in the faces of the nurses and doctors and all those who have risked their lives to save others during this pandemic.  May we honor these special heroes tomorrow as well.

To all my dear friends in other parts of the world may you too take time to remember those who have worked diligently to keep you safe.

God Bless

Debbie

"My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.  Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."   John 15: 12-13 (NIV)

Saludos!!!!

  5. Oh, Debbie, what a loving post...I do understand the image of God is Love... You cherish and appreciate the world, its good people, its beautiful nature. Your photos with your writing are exquisitely beautiful, the trees, looking upward, the heavenly light, harmony of color...Yes, it is different. I was not one to attend parades too often, but daily we are more separate now in our communities. Thank you, as always, for sharing...Rita

  6. This is a very nice Memorial Day post, Debbie. Yes, all the health care workers are so special, and so many others that have helped out each and every day during this time in history. I appreciate them very much.

I love your photos of the sun shining through the branches. : )

  9. Oh my gosh, there's the hummingbird! He blended in with the branches, but I can see him as clear as day now. Thank you for mentioning that to me so I could come over again and see this beloved bird. It looks like the sunlight is making a rainbow on your photos too. What wonderful photos these are Debbie.

  13. I love how the sun filters through the leaves. It's good to remember our Veterans and also how, as believers, we need not fear death.

    Happy Memorial Day.

  16. Lovely words, Debbie. I hope when this is over we remember the sacrifices of those who were so essential in our lives. Going back to what was there before is not enough. It has taken me a while to get back here. Things with Jerry are still very busy. He is having surgery on his hip today. Hopefully this will allow his life to get back to something a bit more normal. Thanks for always checking in with me. I will keep you posted on how things go. Take care and be safe!
