Valentine's Day

Whew it is hard to believe Valentine's day is just around the corner.   Where did January go??

The winter has been kind here in my "neck of the woods".  Not much snow.  The temperatures have been - for the most part - above normal for this time of the year.

By February 14th one can see that the days are beginning to grow longer. This does not make me sad :)!

The above photo is of last year's poinsettia re-blooming.  For many years I have kept these flowers alive but have never successfully had one bloom red again.  How appropriate - just in time for Valentine's day.  Hope everyone has a lovely one.

P.S. I want to thank each of you who visited last week and left an encouraging word.  God Bless!

"Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered.  It keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails."  1 Cor. 13:4-8a (NIV)

  1. How wonderful. I have never got a poinsettia to reflower. Wishing you a happy Valentine's Day. We don't really celebrate it anymore but it's still a good reminder to be extra nice to each other.

  2. Oh my, I didn't know poinsettias re-bloomed a year later. The red is so pretty. Debbie, one of my daughters' favorite verses is the "love is patient" one. Thank you for letting me hear it again today. Happy Valentine's Day. : )

  3. Love never fails! Hallelujah!

  4. Wow what a great result with your Poinsettia , not easy to make it rebloom or even keep alive , brava ! Where did Christmas go anyway, really seems like yesterday .

  5. Your poinsetta looks so healthy. We too are having above normal temps this winter. We are also having above average rain. I don't mind that because we have been in a moderate drought the past few years. Have a great week.

  6. Its so hard to believe your poinsettia is still going strong. You have magical hands. On Valentines Day, I will be getting Cataract surgery so I won't be painting for awhile since I work with pastels so keep posting these beautiful flowers for me....Happy Valentines Day my friend.

  7. So cool! I've never had one rebloom, either. I've had much better luck with Christmas cactus.

  8. I never ever tire of that beautiful verse. Thank you for posting it! Your poinsettia is lovely and I'm so glad it re-bloomed for you. What a nice surprise! Hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

  9. Your poinsettia is beautiful, just in time.
    Happy Valentine's Day, Debbie!

  10. How nice to have the poinsettia re-blooming just in time for Valentine's Day! I love that verse but seem to hear it mostly at weddings. How appropriate for this time of year! Have a great Valentine's Day!

  11. Debbie, it's great that your poinsettia is re-blooming! I've never had one do that. Happy Valentine's Day!

  12. A poinsettia nurtured with your loving spirit, it's beautiful! Lovely passage about love...I love reading about your neck of the woods in Harmony Hills.
I will go back and read your previous post now.

  13. Love the flower. But this flower is giving me an allergic reaction :-) So I don't buy them.

    God bless you.

  14. Here in Brazil, Valentine's Day
is celebrated on June 12 in winter.
I love this flower around here it is used a lot at Christmas, it is also yellow in color.
    Continuation of a good week.
