Where is Autumn?

Many of us in this part of the world have been asking where is autumn?

Our vibrant fall colors are missing.
The temperatures remain unseasonably warm.

Summer flowers are still blooming...

Even I have returned to painting spring subjects.

Today the wind is blowing.   That often signals a change in the weather.  Just maybe it will bring some of autumn's glory.   Hope so!

Take care friends and have a blessed week.

Hugs
Debbie

  1. Good day Debbie,
Autumn has arrived here and pretty much crept away again overnight. Oh well, nothing I can do about it so I enjoy it all myself. I have such pretty colors right outside my front window I think I'll stay home. :) Have a great week.

  3. Bonsoir chère amie,

Je ne vais pas me plaindre de ces belles journées ensoleillées et douces que nous subissons en ce moment !... Je serais hypocrite !!
Très jolies photos... Une peinture aussi qui me fait du bien.
    Gros bisous 🌸

  5. It is amazing that autumn hasn't made it to your part of the world. It rarely makes it to ours but that is normal. Thankfully, it's cooler though. But I still crave a real autumn.

  6. Maybe summer is hanging on because it is not quite finished yet.

  7. Deb, I think it is coming as it dropped last night and has only risen into the 60's today. Seems almost chilly. Those colors can't be far behind. I need to go get more bulbs.

  8. Love your photos! It is so odd to have it be mid October and see barely a hint of a change in color. I won't complain because it has been great weather to do plein air painting. Have a beautiful week, Debbie!

  9. Beautiful photos, Debbie! Yes, it has been unusually quite mild here in Montreal and the leaves are changing colour at a slower pace than usual. But there is a cold front coming and the winds are supposed to be quite strong and intense tonight, and I bet that will change things. I saw a tree today with mostly red leaves...still many have some green leaves left.

  10. The same is happening here in Holland. We even have summer temperatures here today, apparently due to hurricane Ophelia. If that makes sense. :)

  11. It has been like that here too. Strange autumn weathers. Maybe this wind will bring in autumn as we know it.

  12. Debbie,
I think autumn's shyness might have something to do with not wanting to be rained on. I see rain in the forecast see a sprinkle, and the clouds just stay there.

  13. beautiful painting! It sure is a mixed up Fall, but I love it!

  14. We are still in the 90s here in Arizona. The nights are much cooler and our plants have slowed their growth. We don't have the trees in southern AZ that you do so we don't get the flashy bursts of color you have. Don't give up! I'll bet you'll still have a frenzy of color before long.

  15. Looks like here ... too warm and dry for a colorful fall -- BUT weather has changed too -- a bit of rain and colder -- fingers crossed for both of us to see more color this fall!

  17. Dear Debbie,
Beautiful photos. the autumn colors are so lovely. It has been over 100 degrees here, so autumn, not so much. It should cool down later this week, says the weather man. I sure hope so.
I love your painting! I hope you will share more soon. Beautiful work.
Thank you so much for visiting Dandelion, and leaving such kind words. I always enjoy your visits.
    blessings,

  18. Hope you've gotten some autumn weather by now! I thoroughly enjoyed the cooler, drier weather in CA. Was so hard to come back to Florida's steaminess. I will say, though, that it is a bit cooler than it was when I left...perhaps we'll have some DRY weather here soon!

I love your painting. I made it as large as I could to get a good look-see.
You made some lovely color for us to see with the pop of blue. Beautiful! Have a blessed week, my friend.

  26. It has arrived with great "gusto" here. I fear the warm weather has gone and we are in for a cold winter. They even had snow a week ago at the pass. I am hoping for a gentle winter this year. I'm still not over last years everlasting snow. LOL

  27. Yes, no autumn leaves glowing here, either. Love the painting!

  28. I'm sure Autumn will get there in no time! Our's has been lovely and the leaves are in bright reds and gold. The leaves are starting to fall like rain though, so it will be over before we know it! Hope those bright colors get here soon!

  29. Hello Debbie, I hope fall has arrived for you now. It certainly has in England but sadly the rain and high winds have arrived as well so the leaves are falling really quickly. Terry and I have been out and about photographing the colours while we have the chance.
    Have a lovely week, Barbara
