Painting and sketching

In spite of many spring chores I found some time this week to do a bit of painting and sketching.

The viola was painted on Yupo paper.   It is a challenging surface but also forgiving.   If you don't like something you can just wash off and start over!

This little piece was done on Strathmore precut watercolor paper.   5x7 is a nice size to use if you choose to make a greeting card.

Well best go for now I hear the garden calling.   So glad you took a moment to stop by.
Have a lovely week.

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord not for men." Col. 3:23
(NIV)

  1. Yes, yupo is quite a challenge. Looks like you did well on it. The small painting on watercolor paper would be nice framed or as a card for some lucky recipient. I hope you enjoyed your gardening as well as your painting. Have a wonderful week, Debbie!

  4. Love them. I can almost feel your serenity. If it would just stay warm, I too need to do much in the garden.

  5. Lovely signs of spring. I so admire anyone who gardens as I've never tried it more than a few plants in pots on the deck. Happy spring!

  10. I've only tried yupo paper once, in a long-ago art class, and I found it nearly impossible to work with. I hope I'd have a better experience now. I'm impressed by how your painting came out! Love all the pretty flowers of spring you're painting.

  11. Hi Debbie, yes, life is like a string of beads. Each one is different, like the different days or stages in our lives.
Some brilliant shiny, some dull, and some really outstanding.
I have this painting in a frame and see it everyday.
As for you girlfriend, I love your little paintings, and funny thing I just saw these papers today in Michaels.

  14. Good day Debbie, your florals are lovely as always. Viola was my maternal grandmother's name and I've never heard of another person with that name. It's nice to see the flower she was named after. Enjoy your day.
