Pages

September has found me filling up pages in my sketchbook.   These fleeting moments are precious. It is a wonderful way to take note of what made each day meaningful.

Dried corn stalks and  morning glories weaving around a tree stump will remind me of a sunny morning in late summer.

Weeds growing in a field ...the neighbor's barn...

gathered wildflowers all will serve as a lovely memory of a beautiful time of the year.

When I look at these sketches I will remember dusk falling softly and the crickets calling .

Thank you for letting me share these pages with you.  God Bless!

Listening

I've been listening to the last notes of summer.   The crescendo is past...just a short measure remains.

Here are a few final chords.
Squash on the vine
 \

Dried corn waiting for the harvest...

A Moth visiting  wildflowers

 Goldenrod swaying in the breeze...

and a couple of friends taking a moment to listen too!

Hope you are hearing summer's last strains.   God Bless!

Something old/Something new

I have discovered a new way of doing something old....doodling the zentangle way.
For years I have doodled... on backs of envelopes...grocery lists...meeting agendas ...sketchbooks...etc.  My doodles were not meant to be art.  They were just a way of  making  marks.

Then I discovered Zentangles.   They are patterns that are tangled into a design.  There are hundreds of tangles out there to do...some are simple and others more complex.

You can even move from tangling a simple square to creating a zentangle inspired art piece.   What is wonderful about them is there is really no right or wrong way of creating these works.
They are designed for you to relax and just focus on making one line at a time.

You just need a white piece of paper, a black micron pen or one that is similar and a pencil for shading.
You can read all about them at  Zentangle.com

What a great way to jump start a creative block and have some fun as well.

Take warning though they are addicting.

Hope you have a beautiful Sunday - God Bless!

Making a Memory

Yesterday was about making a memory.   Hubby had just heard that the Tall Ships were in the harbor at Lake Erie.  The weather was superb and it was a great opportunity to see these lovely maritime works of art.

Saturday's chores were left behind.  They would wait.   This event just couldn't be missed.

A wonderful option to avoid the traffic was to take a ferry across the lake.

It was a lovely way to travel... the breeze and the sun made it especially delightful.   The best part of the day for me!

These magnificent ships are amazing.    A part of the past that  remains for folks to still see.

I am so glad we seized  the day.  It made a special memory..
Hope you are making one too!

September

"Try to remember the kind of September when life was slow and oh so mellow..."  a sweet sweet song from the 60's by the Sandpipers.

Hope you all will have a wonderful first day of September remembering life when it was slow and mellow!

Thank you for stopping by - God Bless!

Sow

It is the time of the year when I begin to sow seeds for the coming season.  Discovered a different method on You Tube...they call it "...
